I’m obsessed….

Both NARS Palette Swatches (Blanc de Sable & Bord de Plage 2017

…. and am very happy by the products that NARS has released in 2017, especially their highlighters.  The formula is on point with the two fabulous palettes that come out:  the Blanc de Sable & the Bord de Plage.

NARS Amazing Highlighter Palettes

At first, I was not going to purchase either of them, then I saw the hype it was receiving by the beauty gurus saying OMG “the Blanc de Sable is next level in highlighting and that I need to need come out and set up camp with them down at the NARS head quarters”, lol.   This was back in February 2017, so of course, I went to the Sephora website put the NARS Blanc De Sable highlighter palette in my cart, pressed purchased and got my receipt.

NARS Blanc De Sable Highlighter

Honestly, when I first used it, I was not that impressed and thought “mehh, just another highlight”.  However, after playing with it for a while, I noticed I was reaching for this palette more and more.  I thought to myself one day “damn this is good” as I looked at myself in my mirror.

NARS Highlighting Gorgeousness

It gave my cheeks that lil extra something, did not accent my cheek texture nor was it thick and chunky.  It applies very evenly, has a smooth finish, I can build it up from a soft finish to a more intense shine and stays on all day.  So of course, it soon became my most used highlighter and kick all my current highlighters to the curb.

Now, just as I was so sure I was not going to need another highlighter ever again, NARS released the Bord De Plage Highlighter & Bronzing Palette.  Well for peat sakes, there I am once again, heading over to the Sephora website, adding the palette to my cart, purchasing it and there I remain on the NARS highlighting train.  I’ve been on the NARS highlighting train for almost a year and I have no plans on jumping off yet.  Although, I have made some pit stops here and there but I’ve always returned on my original route to NARS head quarters.

The Bord De Plage palette released in July 2017 and has 4 highlighters and 2 bronzing shades.  Granted it has some already released shades and some newer shades, which does not bother me in the least.

It’s the formula that I was after because it’s simply phenomenal.  Since I have set up camp here at NARS head quarters, I have noticed that the formula in both the Blanc De Sable and the Bord De Plage are very similar, if not exact.  I’m mean, WOW!  I’m not into checking ingredient list on products, my research is based on use of product.  Each day I wake up and feel anxious as I know I will using my fav palettes and will use one or both to highlight or bronze.  I then give a wave to the NARS staff and salute them for creating the best highlighters for 2017.

I am very pleased with both palettes, my best highlighter for 2017, and I look forward to seeing what else NARS releases for 2018.

Michele Wang – My Newest YouTube Influencer

Michelle Wang

MICHELE WANG….

… is a phenomenal up and coming beauty influencer, in my opinion.  I started watching her when she had around 3,000 + subscribers (May/June2017).  Since I came across her channel back then, I feel that her channel has steadily grown, which is great.  Today, she is now has 8,732 subscribers and I feel that this steady growth is a good indicator that her channel will exceed 10,000 subscribers before her 1st Anniversary.

While I was watching one of her videos, she stated that she is a designer of hand-made knit wear.  So I went back to her video play list and found that she creates some beautiful, I mean beautiful, hand made knitted sweaters, shawls and other beautiful pieces.  If you want to go to her webpage called mishi2x designs to view some of the gorgeous pieces that she created, please follow the link above.  The video below titled “NYC Makeup Haul! Barneys + Sephora + Chanel and more!” looks like it would have been her first beauty products haul video.  Prior to this, she had already gained a following, as she showcased her knitting talent on her channel. WOW, I’m so impressed and I’m so glad that she is now lending some of her time to beauty.

Michele Wang said that she started making beauty videos back in February 2017 when she moved to Las Vegas from New York.  She brings a real warmth and freshness to the Youtube beauty community.  Her enthusiasm always shines through as she discusses each product.  I get the feeling that she knows the product well and that she knows what she likes.

It is very refreshing to see new beauty influencers that are taking pride in their video content and ensuring that they are releasing quality videos instead of quantity.  I would much rather view fewer videos from a creator, where I feel they took the time to research & use the products, instead of releasing uninformative boring videos more frequently.  Michelle keeps me coming back for more and I am really enjoying her “Top 5 Tuesdays” and recently her “Best of 2017” videos.

What I enjoy about Michelle’s videos is that the majority of her videos are on high-end makeup like Tom Ford Beauty, Chantecaille, Charlotte Tilbery, Pat McGrath, Victoria Beckham, LaMer, Surratt and so many more.  These are videos of products that I want to view and I’m glad that Michelle has filled this void.  Please go and show her some support and subscribe to her channel, you won’t regret it. 🙂

Thank you Michelle for making the decision to start your YouTube Channel and I wish you all the best for the 2018 year, here on your channel and with your knitting creations.

Viseart Grande Pro Palette

IMG_20171128_165454687Absolutely Amazing!

My most recent addition to my eyeshadow palette collection is my Viseart Grand Pro.  I purchased my palette through the Muse Beauty Pro website and even participated in their pre-launch ordering about a week prior to it being launched.  This palette has 30 gorgeous, blend into each other, pigmented shades.  Twenty four of the 30 shades are colors that they pulled from their vault of archived shades and the remaining 6 can be found in existing palettes.  Alfonz of Muse Beauty stated that this palette is a collectors edition, I mean really, how fabulous is that.  It’s like they made a palette specifically for me and every other Viseart collector.

IMG_2152

I was under the impression that there would be only 3000 palettes made and be exclusive to Muse Beauty Pro.  However, this is not totally accurate.  Yes, there were a certain number of palettes made and were lauched at Muse Beauty Pro.  From the first 3000 palettes, a number would be hand written in the lower right hand side in gold.  Once these were sold, the remaining palettes would be sold with out a number and be offered at at Muse Beauty Pro and through Beautylish.  My palette was numbered 1707/3000 and was written in the lower right hand corner in gold.

IMG_2149Shortly after receiving my palette, I saw people posting photos of their palette on their Facebook, Instagram and Blogs pages.  However, what I noticed was that their palettes did not have a palette number, curious.  So, I asked a couple people what their palette number was and where they purchased their palette.  They responded back to me saying that their palette did not come with a personalized number and they purchased their palette through Beautylish. Truthfully, I felt a wee bit bummed, as I thought I actually received one of the only 3000 palettes that were launched at Muse Beauty Pro.  This feeling was short lived though and now I’m glad that more palettes were made available to more people.  IMG_2153As of today, the Viseart Grande Pro palette can still be purchased at Muse Beauty Pro and Beautylish.

I watched the interview that Stephanie Nicole did with Anastasia, Viseart and with Alfonz, Muse Beauty Pro and this video was jam-packed with information about their newest release.  One tid bit was that they used shades that came from an archived vault.  The archived vault are shades that did not make any of there previous palettes, interesting.

I am really enjoying this palette and along with my other 4 Viseart palettes is becoming my most used.  You know, knowing what I know now about these wicked palettes, I would have only purchased Viseart, that’s how much confidence I have in Viseart.  They are all I need and sadly, my other palettes are kinda collecting dust.  If anyone out there is still considering purchasing this palette, my advice is to go through Beautylish and take advantage of the 3 easy pay schedule.  Below I have my swatches and done both brush and finger swatches and starred my favorite shades.  Until next time, take care

My Most Loved Concealor for 2017

Is the PIXI Correction Concentrate…

img_2380

I’ve tried a few correctors this year but the Pixi Corrector Concentrate has been an excellent find. There are two shades and I chose the Awakening Apricot which is a light peach shade and the other is more pink. I have light under eye darkness and most times I don’t need a corrector but for the days when I do need a little something, I use the Pixi corrector.

3bfa97ac-cb35-482d-90fd-e0f7772f86f7-2275-00000740da4ca32f-1

Prior to this I used up the peach shade in the NYX 6 pan corrector palette. I didn’t mind the NYX but I found it a little drying so I was on a hunt for another drug store brand corrector.

I stopped by London Drugs and found a small Pixi display which had the setting sprays, eyeshadows and the one shade of corrector. I think I paid something like $20 for this little glass pot of corrector in Awakening Apricot.

img_2378When I started using it I noticed that it was very light shade of peach which is just what I wanted. After using it for about a month, I found that it was not drying but very emollient and hid my dark circles. As I said earlier, I don’t have dark under eye circles, so I don’t look for anything too darkening. The Pixi was just the right shade and hid what needed to be disguised. I was very impressed and need to pick up a new one.

One downside to this product is the way it breaks up in the jar when it just about done causing it to dry up. Other than that, I am saying that I’ve found my perfect corrector, but that doesn’t stop me from checking out other correctors.

I just picked up the Maybelline MasterCamo and thought I’d give this a whirl. It is a much darker shade of peach, however, if I only use a smidge it’s okay. It blends outs nicely, however, I felt like it was drying my under eye area. I’ll still use it and see what the drying situation is about but for now, I’ll stick with the Pixi brand.

Happy New Year’s Eve!

Youngblood Mineral Cosmentic

I have found my Holy Grail Foundation!

Perfect ShadeI was browsing around at one of the only stores that I can find products like Cargo, the full line of the NYX products, Real Techniques, and new products that I have never heard of like Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics.

Beauty Native Style

There are numerous products to this line like face powders, eyeshadows, mascara and of course foundation.  The foundation that I chose was in the shade Caribbean.  It is the perfect shade and it leaves my skin looking flawless, moisturized and has the perfect coverage.  I love it so much and am so satisfied with this foundation.

Beauty Native Style

On the bottle is says, “creamy makeup provides moisture with a lasting, radiant finish.  Exclusive deep-sea hydrating complex contains ocean minerals, nutrients and botanicals.  Leaves skin silky-smooth and pore free”.  It also has a 12 month shelf life and the Youngblood Mineral cosmetics are located in Simi Valley California.

On their website https: //ybskin.com/  it says…  “Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics was formed in 1996 when our founder, Pauline Youngblood (a medical esthetician at the time), sought to create a foundation safe enough for her patients to use while recovering from skin procedures such as chemical peels and laser resurfacing. The result was our Natural Mineral Foundation, one of our most celebrated products to this day.  Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics continues to craft an extensive selection of innovative and high-performance beauty products, each gentle enough for use on damaged or healing skin, yet gorgeous enough for even the most selective makeup lover“.

…and that is what I love about this awesome product and why it is my holy grail foundation for 2017.  If you have a chance to get a sample, check it out, it will be well worth it.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year!

Viseart & Muse Beauty Pro Interview

Stephanie Nicole…

…did an amazing job interviewing Alphonse Wiebelt, Creative Director of Muse Beauty Pro and Anastasia Van Palmer-Van Dusen, CEO of Viseart on March 26, 2017.  What an honor for her to have been the one to do this interview, makes so much sense and if you ask me “yes, you got the job Stephanie”.  Stephanie Nicole asked some great questions about Viseart’s heritage, how Viseart and Muse Beauty got together, the production & promotion of the brand and so much more.  This interview is THAT and MORE… everything I wanted to know about the Viseart Color Theory Palettes and how they came into play, who knew there was so much behind the scenes happening.  This video is an hour and ten minutes long, but it’s worth watching every minute.  Enjoy!

Dreads by Nicole!

Creative or what?

Saw these in the kitchen when I got home from the big city… my first thought was, “this should be interesting”. My daughter Nicole has always been very creative with her hair doo’s.  Here, she has her newly cleaned and groomed dreads.  It’s quite the task to get them to this point.  She orders them online and they come packaged in lil tiny bags.  She takes them out of the lil bags, washes them in a rolling soapy method, drys them for a few days and adds some decorative art work to them.  In the end, they always come out different.   Anyway, this was her project last week and can’t wait to see what they will look like on.  If you want to see the end result, all you have to do is “like” this post.
