In 2013, this palette caught my eye while I was clicking through the Sephora website. I do believe at that time, it was offered as a limited edition and I thought that the shades were right up my alley. I have a weakness for holiday palettes and will pick up what appeals to me, however, this palette was blinking bright with lil neon lights saying “pick me pick me”.
The Laura Mercier Artist palette has twelve shades, 6 matte and 6 with some shimmer, and is encased in a soft faux textured leather compact that is very travel friendly. My most used shades are called Vanilla Nuts, Fresco, Guava, Plum Smoke and African Violet and have hit pan on a few of these shades. Hitting pan on any of my eyeshadow palettes is exciting but at the same time nerve raking because of the limited edition status.
This palette is one of my all time favorite palettes because of the way the shades blend together and there is a good selection of both matte and satin shades. My favorite combination is using Vanilla Nuts all over my eye lid, Fresco in the crease, a smidge of Plum Smoke & Kir Royal on the outer corner and Guava patted on the lid. These shades together make a very soft wearable everyday look.
I don’t know if this palette is to become a permanent item to the Laura Mercier line, but I may purchase a back up just in case. If I do this, this palette will be the first eyeshadow palette that I will buy twice .
