I don’t know how many of you ladies and gents are subscribed to Jen’s channel on Youtube?  If you are not, then you need to be.  She has a Youtube Channel called JEN LUV’S REVIEWS.  She has, as of today, 48,507 Youtube subscribers and if you ask me, this number should be higher. I have been watching Jen for some time now, I want to say 2 plus years, and I really enjoy the content of her videos.  She brings to us a wide range of makeup related topics like: Live Chats, Reviews, Favorites, Unboxing, Vlogs, Tutorials, and my favorite, the makeup news. The news series that I never miss, is her weekly “What’s Up In Makeup” news video’s.  Here she and her arsenal of knowledgeable reporters, yes she has a team of amazing people that assist her, bring us the weekly news on what’s new, what’s hot and what’s not from high end to more affordable makeup.  IT’S A GREAT SERIES, PLEASE GO AND WATCH HER VIDEO’S AND SUBSCRIBE TO HER CHANNEL, YOU WON’T REGRET IT.

Jen also has a GRWM series on Periscope, same handle, Jen Luvs Reviews.  Periscope is a new video streaming platform that enables you to “go live”via your mobile device anytime, anywhere.  I look forward to my morning makeup routine, as I get ready with Jen.  I usually catch the tail end of her stream, due to the 2 hours time difference, and then watch the replays.  She will also do makeup checkins at the end of the day and just before she starts her evening meal prep.  This is also fab.

Periscope

I can go on and on about Jen and how fab she is, so I’m encouraging you to go and find out for yourselves.  You can catch her on YOUTUBE, PERISCOPE, TWITTER, & FACEBOOK, all as JenLuvsReviews.twitter

Kat Von D Video’s

Two great Kat Von D Video’s that I’ve recently watched… Plus one extra video…

This first video is about a question that Kat Von D presented to a select audience and her question was, “what was your first makeup memory”?   This video can be found on the her YouTube Channel – thekatvond or on the Sephora Website.  Jeffree Star’s story was my favorite and Jeffree Star also has a YouTube Channel which is jeffreestar.

My first makeup memory was sneaking my older sisters Cover Girl quad and mascara when I was 12.  My mom caught me wearing it and made me wash it off, but I continued in secret.

In this second video, Kat Von D is demonstrating how to use her new Metal Crush Eyeshadows.  I need these in my life…

What are your first memories of makeup?????

There is the third extra video on how Kat Von D does the Pointillism Makeup method..stunning

Baking & Cooking?

Check out Bunny Meyer’s attempt at Baking/Cooking:

I started following Bunny Meyer, AKA “GRAV3YARDGIRL“, a couple of years ago.  She has a very intense and very infectious silly bright personality.  Today, as I check out my YouTube Subscriber list, I decide to check out her video on the Baking and Cooking technique. I, personally, do not perform this method as it is a little to much extra product for my mature skin.  This method, is used to basically to set makeup and also to brighten highlighted or contoured areas.  It is interesting to see the wave of interest among the YouTube Guru community when a “New” technique or product hits the stands, so to speak.  Then more amazing, how the viewers need to have that product or try the technique.  Love the phase, “Everyone and their Grandma” is using or trying….!  Anyway back to Baking and Cooking…while watching one of Wayne Goss’s videos, I recall him mentioning that the Baking/Cooking technique originated with the Drag Queen’s community as part of their makeup transformation to enhance their masculine features to a more feminine look.  Make’s sense, so why is is this method being used so regularly within the average everyday Makeup Guru routine?  Because they can, I guess..I don’t know.  More personal preference, i’m sure.

Some perform the baking/cooking technique quite easily, while other’s, like Bunny, are having fun with it.  In her video of October 23rd, 2015, she takes on this technique as part of her “Pinter Test Challenge”.  She proves that we don’t all have to be makeup experts to apply makeup but to just have fun your way.  Good Job Bunny!
